Clarity is an important part of a patient’s continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), providing a holistic view of their diabetes management by highlighting glucose patterns, trends, and statistics. While using the Dexcom CGM app patients are automatically and continuously* sending glucose data to their Dexcom Clarity account once the clarity app in downloaded and patients authorize sharing.
How to Share Dexcom G6 Data with a Doctor or Clinic
The clinic will provide patients with a sharing code. To begin sharing data, patients should complete one of the following:
Using the Dexcom Clarity application
- Logging in to the Dexcom Clarity app with a Dexcom login
- Tap Profile > Authorize Sharing and follow the on-screen instructions.
Using the Dexcom Clarity website
- Log in to Dexcom Clarity online at clarity.dexcom.com/professional
- Follow the on-screen instructions for sharing data with a new clinic.
How to Upload Receiver Data to Prepare for Visits
If patients only use the Dexcom receiver with their CGM, patients can prepare for clinic visits by uploading CGM data to their Dexcom Clarity account in advance. Once patients authorize sharing, for every upload, their clinic will also have access to that data. The receiver only holds about 30 days’ worth of data, so uploading once a month is recommended to save all continuous glucose monitoring data.
- First-time Dexcom Clarity users must create an account at clarity.dexcom.com/professional
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Dexcom Clarity Uploader software
- Patients should connect the Dexcom G6 receiver to their computer to upload receiver data automatically.
