Dexcom CGM System Follow App

Dexcom Follow app

Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems enable glucose data sharing between patients, healthcare providers, caretakers, and loved ones. Using the Dexcom G6 and G7 apps, patients get more peace of mind with up to 10 followers monitoring their progress.*

customizable circles of care from anywhere

The Dexcom Share feature within the Dexcom G6 app allows users to share glucose data with friends, family, and/or caregivers via compatible smart devices.*,†

Sharers select whether their Followers can view their glucose trend graphs and whether or not Followers will be notified of hyper- and hypoglycemia at specified thresholds and intervals. The Dexcom Share feature is designed to notify Followers of glucose activity that may require the sharer's assistance, helping them stay connected when it matters most.

getting started with the Dexcom Follow app

Dexcom Follow exclusively syncs with data from a patient’s Dexcom mobile app.*,† In order for a designated follower to begin receiving a patient’s glucose data and/or alerts, the patient must manually choose to share their data first.

Watch the video below for a step-by-step overview of how to set up Dexcom G6 Share and Follow apps using your smart device.

refined remote monitoring options support patients across multiple age groups.

Only Dexcom CGM Systems are indicated for individuals ages 2 years and older, helping to support patients in different stages of life.

Pediatric Sharer

For children using Dexcom CGM, having one or more Followers is associated with lower mean glucose, less time in hyper- and hypoglycemia, more time spent in range, and significantly higher CGM utilization.‡,1

Adolescent Sharer

Sharers are able to choose who follows their glucose data, giving teenagers and young adults more control over who’s on their diabetes support team.

Adult Sharer

The demands of day-to-day life can make it hard for patients to stay on top of their glucose levels—even if they’ve managed their diabetes for decades. They can share with significant others, trusted colleagues, and/or close friends to help them stay on track.

Medicare Sharer

Some patients may need greater assistance as they approach later stages of life. Dexcom Follow helps empower sharers who may have more limitations by connecting them to individuals like caregivers, family members, and/or loved ones.

helps connect socially distanced care teams

Since diabetes was identified as a comorbidity of COVID-193, many patients have restricted their interactions outside the home. For some, this goes beyond socializing and non-essential activities; they may also be more apprehensive or unable to engage with members of their care team.

Dexcom Follow helps keep patients and their designated Followers connected, even if they can’t do so in person. Learn more about how remote monitoring can support telehealth practices here.
